Cookie & Local Storage Notice

Last updated:

The Velvet Library uses cookies and browser-storage technologies for security, authentication, site functionality and optional Reader preferences.

This notice explains the categories controlled through Privacy Preferences.

Privacy Signals

RED — Necessary Only

YELLOW — Necessary + Functional

GREEN — Necessary + Functional + Analytics

Marketing / Tracking remains disabled.

Necessary

Always active where required for requested functionality. May include Cloudflare security cookies, authentication transaction cookies, authenticated-session cookies, navigation-recovery storage and the privacy-choice record. Necessary technologies cannot always be disabled without preventing requested functionality.

Functional

Optional. May include homepage interface-state preferences, Reader theme and text settings, Reader progress and bookmarks, last-opened Reader location, Studio interface preferences and local Reader diagnostic recovery where applicable. Functional storage is enabled when YELLOW or GREEN is selected.

Analytics

Optional. The consent architecture supports Analytics, but no analytics provider is currently enabled. GREEN records permission for future Analytics but currently loads no analytics provider. This notice must be updated before a production provider is introduced.

Marketing / Tracking

Not currently in use. The Velvet Library currently does not use advertising cookies, behavioural advertising, advertising pixels or cross-site marketing tracking on its public pages.

Authentication provider

When a visitor requests authenticated Reader, Studio or Admin functions, the browser may be redirected to an external authentication provider. That provider may use necessary authentication/security cookies and technical measurement technologies on its domain. Those technologies are not controlled by the Library's first-party Privacy Preferences interface.

Changing your preferences

Visitors may reopen PRIVACY PREFERENCES from the site footer at any time. Changing from GREEN or YELLOW to RED may remove locally stored Reader preferences, progress and bookmarks after confirmation. Necessary authentication and security technologies are not removed.

Clearing local Reader data

The Privacy Preferences panel provides CLEAR LOCAL READER DATA. This removes locally stored Reader preferences, progress and bookmarks. It does not delete an authenticated account, unsubscribe an email address, delete newsletter information stored by Brevo or affect external authentication-provider records.
